South Valley Chiefs Lacrosse

We love our parent volunteers!   As a non-profit organization we rely solely on the support of team parents to make the club work. 

Most important task - - enjoy watching your kids having fun and learning to play a terrific sport!

Parents are encouraged to be involved in whatever way they can.  Help is always needed to make things run smoother.  Some examples of parent help are:  Assistant Coach (training is provided), game coordinator, team parent, field and equipment, field maintenance, scorekeepers, fundraising and PR. Parents are encouraged to be involved in whatever way they can. A list of positions is below.  Please e-mail Joy Bender, Club Manager, to sign-up!  

Secretary
Interface with website to provide team rosters and prepare player rosters.

League Liaison
All clubs are required to provide someone to act as their representative with the NCJLA. We need strong and dedicated people who will help shape the club’s future at league level. We need at least 4 parents for this job.  Requires attending monthly league meetings in San Francisco, report back to manager about changes within the league.  (telephone conferences available)

Game Scheduler
Schedule games with other teams (starts December 1).  Confirm games with opposing team and refs and then communicate game information to team parents.

Coaches
If you have lacrosse experience we’d love to have you join our coaching staff. Coaching clinics will be provided.

Assistant Coaches
Assist coach at practice by setting up and running drills, coaching smaller groups and supporting where necessary.  No lacrosse experience is necessary - training will be provided. 

Team Parent
Update team roster as needed; liason between coach and team; e-mail game confirmations and practice schedule updates to team; organize end of season party; organize team basket for auction.

Scorekeepers
Share responsibility with other scorekeepers by dividing up games to keep score at.

Uniforms
Pull order data from registration website and submit to manufacturer; organize uniforms into bags for specific players; distribute uniforms to parents who will distribute to their teams.

Team Apparel
Take orders for team apparel by monitoring website orders; distribute apparel to teams.

Fundraising
Our annual Auction is our only fundraiser consisting of silent and live auction items.  It's a fun event that includes help from local pro lacrosse players.  There's something fun for every family member at this event!
